BladeShowGanzaaaa 2014 Pics, Specs and Pricing!!!! . . . . . . . . (Page 1)

I don't believe those are chatter marks, as multiple knives have the same pattern in the same place. It also does not look like any chattering tool marks I have ever saw in the tool room at work. More than likely in the CNC program.

when machining tools start to dull they chatter/deflect. This blade just happened to be the one the tool dulled out on maybe. The tool was probably changed after this blade was complete with a sharp tool and this would maybe have solved this blemish. It also depends on how consistant heat treat is, this blade could of came from a batch that is a tad bit harder than other blades. This is all part of the comp finish (rugged non polished look imo), and the reason Busse doesn't like to offer it is because people are freaked out by this at times. It is what it is, this would normally be polished out and you would never know. This blade defines competition finish to me and looks great (great look behind a sharp edge)!

I found this in only one or two knives out of 30-35 I got at blade. I actually like it a lot.

I even pulled it out and saved it for myself. It kinda gives the appearance similar kinda a sorta like an INFI damasteel.

I would love one and would possibly pay extra for one evenly done all over...bad azz!

Yep my tigerhide sob has it too...no way I'll ever get rid of it. I love it.

I just assumed if it was in the program, the marks would be on all the blades. Must make separate programs for each blade.....

that is a valuable observation T, thanks.

some folks like skinny blades, some folk like fatties.

some folks like users, some folks like safe queens.

some folk like these hog tusk marks, some folks don't.

it's all good.

I am going to make a charge for the trough but I expect to get gored and jostled. Probably wind up with cloven hoof marks on my back.

Very good. A piglet who knows his place. He is happy to accept Hog slop leftovers.

No, they won't be available until Thursday, 31 July 2014 and between 10 and 11 PM.

I don't understand this culture of back stabbing and not helping people. For those who want to really know when they will be available, it's this Thursday between 9 and 10...not 10 and 11. Sheeesh.

It was done as a joke! Pokey clearly stated when and how to participate! Sheesh!

My bad, that's what I get for responding before finishing my first beer, I mean cup of coffee.

interesting that I've only seen them on the tip like where the tool begins to turn the radius of that drop point...

almost makes me think maybe the blade blank may not be secured down totally tight & fast, or maybe a little bit of wear/slop has crept into one of the jigs in the shop...just an observation...

and knife hunter's observed ratio of around 30:1 may trace itself back to one particular machine or jig...

It's obvious they track who's sharpening at the shop, maybe they track which machine roughs out the blanks also-- this has got to be on someone's radar

Personally, I agree with resinguy...some will love it & some are gonna hate...I wouldn't send one back if I got it...don't see it hurting performance...

Of course another possibility could be a hungover operator

Nah, not likely...

Are all the new TGLB'S ground like that now?

We can't be exactly sure what Busse is doing in the shop. But we know that they have a number of CNC machining centers. Our best guess is that all blade blanks and scales are machined to shape after HT. Blades destined for satin finish get extra work to clean up the appearance to a higher standard. Combat Grade blades get some sort of surface treatment/conversion coating and are then powder coated.

The Bronze Rattle Hawks do have Garth's tattoo! It's on the opposing side of the blade and it looks awesome!

woo hoo now I know what I am going after :)
