Wish i had the funds for one of these. It is a special opportunity.
I have 4 Farid knives (and 4 Farid leather sheaths). They are world class user knives. I don't think there is any knifemaker who makes tougher knives.
For the extra $50, i recommend getting the sheath. They are just as impressive. Last 3-4 lifetimes easily.

I use my personal D3 chopper to cut all kinds of things from steel cans to 4"x2", 1.5" round dry bamboo, D3 is a top quality tool steel.

They look great...handle material is a good idea too...never thought of using that material.
