Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum and to BSI. I have looked all over Google and frankly I'm getting frustrated. I'm trying to find people who produce and sell choppers for competition. Could those of you that know more about where I can procure a chopper for myself please let me know where to look? Personal opinions are welcome, I'd just like to know where to start. Thanks in advance for any and all advice, assistance and help rendered.

Well there are a few guys making BSI blades and that are certified. Dan Keffeler, Donavan Phillips are two men making some great race blades right now. LT White knives is a sponsor of BSI and had fielded several cutters this year. The biggest trick to a comp knife is the handle. One handle design is impossible to do. Each knife is fitted to each cutter. So do take care with the fit of the handle to your hand. I have recently started making BladeSport knives however I am not at the point to making them for someone else. I know right now there are designs being worked on by Jantz supply for an entry level comp blade that you can do your own handle so it fits you.

Sorry if this is not what you want, but I was unclear on what you are seeking. If you are just getting started in the sport and don't want to spend a pot load of money to try it, Browning produced a competition chopper. I think it is still available. Google "Browning Crowell/Barker Competition Knife"
