BladeSports Practice Station (Catalina Whine Mixer edition)

Food for thought:
I know some folks don’t like showing videos of trying things, until they feel they’re halfway decent, but simply put, you’re on a forum with a Bladesports Champion with the ability to give you pointers and advice on any flaws she might observe.

In all the physical sports I’ve engaged in, this is one of the most valuable things for newbies. You don’t know what you don’t know, and even a lot of folks who try to learn by watching videos, often don’t realize that what they think they’re doing the same way as in the video, isn’t.

Experienced practitioners can watch a video and quickly point out, “OK, when you’re doing that, try placing your feet this way, and angling your body like this. You’ll be able to maintain better accuracy while generating power like this”, etc.

Especially in skill based activities, one of the hardest things to do, is try to relearn something that’s been trained repetitively into muscle memory.
Great advice, my friend. Thank you. I am heading to Mooresville a day early for training to get BladeSports certified and I’ll try both competitions that weekend. Hopefully, Jo, Ben, and the rest will have some pointers for a rookie.

So far, I’m set up for four cuts….let’s see how they go….

IMG_6528.jpegWell, made three runs through these four cutting tasks. Had a few sloppy cuts and much room for improvement. Super fun !

My wife is gonna flip out when she finds golf ball pieces all over the garage ! 🤣🤣🤣

Nice job! A couple of those tasks are harder than they look, and you made them look pretty easy!

YESSS !!! After the third try, the shop got the horizontal 2x4 cut brackets dialed in. Got those hefty suckus mounted up too. Tomorrow, I’ll swing by the hardware store and stock up on 2x4s and a 2x6 . It’s about time to cleave some wood, folks ! 😜
