As I just posted I purchased a BT Mouse Lite to carry as an EDC to my office. Very decent knife for $30. Based on the value for the dollar of this little knife, reading the BT catalog, and research on the web I am thinking about a BT Pro Hunter as camping knife. The wife and I have a couple of TWH horses and we occasionally go camping with a group. I am currenly using my BM mini-grip (great ergonomics - love the axis lock) which tend to use around the farm but I think a slightly larger blade would prove useful...heck it is a reason to buy a knife.

Thinking the BT ProHunter in Orange G-10. S30V steel - which based on my wifes Native takes and holds a great edge - her knife stays shaper longer than my BM in 154CM. Nice blade length but still a "pocket" knife. Orange since when it gets dropped I should be able to find it...and heck it looks cool.

Anything else I should consider before I get the BladeTech Pro-Hunter?

I think the Bladetech products are excellent knives. I had a Pro Hunter at one time but just didn't like the lightweight. Nothing wrong with the knife, it's function, or it's fit/finish, as ALL were excellent, I just don't like lightweight knives. You might want to give the new Bladetech Rijbak a look as it has a little more blade length, is thicker at .157", has a terrific framelock with a thick, .080", titanium framlock. I have one ad love carrying it when it's turn comes up. Nice deep pocket clip to keep it in the pocket and to keep prying eys's off of it. It weighs out at 5.5 ounces so it has a nice heft to it and a very solid feel. Lockup, action, fit/finish are at the top, as all of Bladetechs others are also.

You might want to wait as I think BT is going to improve the Prohunters with a upgrade to a "magnum" model.....just don't know when. Good luck with whatever you get!

I thought about a BT Pro Hunter for a while and got one. I'm very pleased with it. Mine is the black S30V blade with black G10 handles. I have not used it much but would not hesitate to carry it for any activity. The orange handle is a good idea, easier to fine it dropped or misplaced. Go for it.
