I'm sure many of you know this but for those who don't I have to give a shout out to probably one of, if not the, best person on this forum who I have never met in person. Everyone always praises Aldo on here (who I have met and is a great guy too) but I have to tip my hat to Stacy aka Bladsmth.... For those who may remember me when I first joined this forum I was the guy asking a half dozen questions every day in this place. I guess with me being a big enough pain in the ass Stacy decided to shut me up and was kind enough to kick me in the ass to get me started in knife making. I know he has done this numerous times but he sent me basically all the essentials I needed to get me started with the exception of a bunch of elbow grease. All unsolicited by me btw.
I can honestly say that I don't think I would have been as bitten by the bug for making as bad if it wasn't for him, and I don't think my first knife would've turned out the way it did if it weren't for his advice to me. After completing my first and shortly thereafter my second I kind of fell out of the loop for a few years (kid, new house, etc, etc, life stuff). I popped back up now that I'm thinking I should finally will have some time to dedicate to making again. Like I never left Stacy has stepped up and offered his assistance and advice to me both on and off the boards here and continues to kick me in the ass to help with my knife making like a Sensei. So I wanted to say for probably the thousandth time THANK YOU to Stacy and I have not problem saying it a thousand times more because I think if it weren't for his as well as the advice of many of the excellent and generous seasoned makers on here I probably would've fell by the wayside at some point along the journey. If we ever get the opportunity to meet the Guinness will be on me sir.
