Blank profile for first knife

I continued the radius from the blade into the handle, added a bit more curve to the underside of the handle to make it less blocky. It is hard to say what would be more comfortable in my hand until I had a full size tang in hand. Anyone have opinions for what is generally more comfortable?

CPM-154 is a stainless steel that makes superb knives. You can't HT it at home without a HT oven and some experience, but you can send it out and have the HT and cryo done for $10-15.

I like the design now, but have a question about the black dot on the handle. Is that a rivet hole? You should use two or three rivets/bolts on the scales on such a handle, with the end rivets about 1" from each end of the scale, and the other in the center. Play with the placement until it looks right. making a cardboard cutout and holding it in your hand can help a lot in designing a blade. Draw the front of the handle on the cutout and decide where the rivets should be for the best look. Save the cardboard cutout as a template for cutting the steel and making more knives later.

Thanks! I'm not sure what the black dot is :) I think its just a left over artiifact that I didn't delete. Thanks for the rivet tips though, i'll do that.
