Blast from the Past...Koncept Knives

To tie up a loose end in this thread about Catoctin Cutlery - They are no longer in existence, since they were were bought out by Blue Ridge Knives.

I have a Koncept knife and want to sell it on Ebay, does anyone know what it is worth it has about a 3" blade and 6.5 open. I have had it a long time 10 to 12 years or more. You can email me at travelfortunes@aol.com I'm Richard

I have a Koncept Knife. I believe the model is The Workman or Worker. It has a 3-5/16" round nose blade and a matt black anodized aluminum handle with a liner lock. After all these years, it still looks almost brand new. I got it from Atlanta Cutlery in 1993, and if memory serves, I believe that the ad said the blade was T-34 with a Rockwell hardness of 60. The ad boasted that it was a knife you'd have for the rest of your life. I will attest to that! I also have the original guarantee paperwork from Koncept Knives and nylon belt holster. As others mentioned here, it distributed through Catoctin Cutlery of Smithburg MD.

I have pics of the knife but I'm not allowed to post them it seems, so I posted a video.

A very old thread, but a fascinating history that I had never read before.

Upload your pictures to a free photo hosting site, like PhotoBucket, and then insert the location links into your forum post. Sounds complicated, but really it's not; it's a snap after the first time.

Welcome to BladeForums!

here is one I have

I had a 'Back Alley Fighter' back in the day. Might still be in my collection somewhere.

I have one in my pocket at this very moment. Absolutely love it. Bought it new in the early 90's. I appreciate this thread as I always wondered about the origin of this blade.

I edc a 3.25" Koncept folder alot. I expoxied a pocket clip on it a few years ago and it is still holding up. It is a smaller type of knife with excellent handle to blade ratio. Lock up is stellar and it weighs next to nothing but it is a robust bugger. Razor sharp too. I sure would like to get a bigger one but the only niggle to them is that they don't have pocket clips. Stellar knives though. keepem sharp

Good looking knife! Thanks for bumping this. I hadn't heard about the brand before, and like reading about knife community history.

Resurrected this old thread cause I see Koncept is back. I have an original in ats34 from the early days in the early 90's. Wished it has a pocket clip and if it did it just might be my work edc it is made that well. If I remember correctly it was made in the Spyderco plant or something like that. Associated with Spyderco some how. keepem sharp
