Blast from the Past

Here's a blade and finished knife that came from an end cut billet of canister cable damascus that I had made at least 10 years ago.

Check out the one really bright wire running down the pattern....I had this on some of the cable supply I'd had at the time. Someone said it was a wear indicator in the wire rope?

The knife is about 1/4" with an 8" blade, grooved brass guard and a really antiqued worn piece of sambar.

I am surprised no one else has commented on such a nice combination of materials. While I am not much of a bowie fan, I really like how the sum of the parts comes together into a monochromatic display of understated beauty. Thanks for sharing.
