Boot up in Safe Made.
Reboot your PC and then tap the F8 key a few times while it is booting up, and you'll get the boot menu. Choose Safe Mode. It will take longer to boot up, but it should load up without the worm in memory. Then you can extract the fix, and run it.

Unbelievable - it actually worked!
As soon as I quit holding my breath that something else will go wrong, or the computer explode, I'll thank you very sincerely, Mr. Bad Example. I had visions of an extended trip to the shop and a giant bill. Bless you!
Now I can reinstall my bookmarks, and then save them to floppy.
