Blasting Media To Match CRK Finish

Just an update....I bead blasted my small micarta Sebenza this morning without masking off the micarta. I really can tell no difference in the micarta appearance. It may have a little rougher texture is the only difference I can observe.
I had carried this Sebenza quite often, and it was starting to show some scars. Now it looks great. I am very pleased with the way it turned out.

Good to hear, I'll give it a try the next time I do one. What are you running your compressor at (psi) Red?

I set it at 70 psi, but it usually drops down to high 60's during actual use. It turned out really well. I started masking off the small Seb but it was a real pain, so I figured I would try it out on a scrap piece of canvas micarta I had laying around. It didn't hurt it, so I just went ahead.
I kinda went on a tear after that. Bead blasted my Hinderer, my new large Sebenza, a couple of lanyard beads, and my stainless Parker jotter.
All 5 sebenzas now have the same finish. And I like it better than the factory finish.

I have blasted all of my CRKs...I like the finish better and it doesn't show wear compared to the factory finish. When I sent it in for sharpening Angela complimented me on the way it looked. The only drawback may be that the glass finish is a little less grippy than the factory finish.

I'll probably glass bead my 25 here at work tomorrow or the next day.

Are there any watch outs, or pitfalls?
I'm pretty experienced blasting blades and random stuff, just never blasted ti.

How important is the psi? I'm not sure what we run it here, but I can't really see it hurting anything...

I bead blasted my 25, and it looks great. The same as all the other pics here. What I did was disassemble the knife, and then tape off the INSIDE part of the stop pin. And a little piece over the ceramic ball. I didn't bother taping off the outside portion of the stop pin. I suppose it could be polished back to it's original finish, but I don't really care that much about it. While I had it apart, I polished the washers and the blade tang (at the pivot) with a piece of leather and rubbing?polishing compound. When put back together, it was WAY smoother. Very slick! I highly recommend it!
