Blastmatch and Firestrike

Hello all! I just received my first Blastmatch and Firestrike and I gotta say I am impressed. These babies really kick up a hot spark. Of the two of them I do prefer the Blastmatch though. It's smaller, lighter, and I get better results from it with less work. I know this has been covered before, but I was just curious to see what you thought of these firestarters and if you had a preference.

They both work well as reviews have found. The Fire Strike is very durable, the Blastmatch less so - but the ferrocerium rod will always be there. Just go get a cheap thin rod and practise with it too as the 1/2" rods make things very easy.
The only downside of the larger packages is if they are always on your person.
You can never have too many ferrocerium rods! Time to test them out on every natural tinder available - so welcome to the pyromaniac club.
