Bleems

I've bought three blems from Dave so far, and I've been completely happy with all of them.

In all honesty, I was expecting a chip or a scratch or something when I get my blades. On pretty much all of them, there were no cosmetic defects I could spot. In fact, the only one that I can figure out why was a blem was my Blur, which had the incorrect model number (thanks to some helpful folks on this forum for spotting it for me). Aside from that, my knives came in perfect working condition and I haven't seen any functional or noticeable cosmetic defect on any of them.

I'm actually planning on picking up another Blur from Dave in a few days.

Kershaw's blems definitely won't affect functionality, so if you like to use your knives (and aren't worried about the looks), you've got nothing to lose.

By the way, Dave's the man and his knives are a great value. Got mine from him super-fast and like many others, I can't for the life of me figure out exactly what the blem is. Awesome bargains to be had.

Just bought my 1st blem from Kershawguy. I am also one of these that figure for the few dollars more why bother, but, other than it being a little stiff opening, I can't find a thing wrong with it. I figure it will loosen up and if it doesn't I'll adjust the pivot. It just arrived yesterday and I am super happy with it.

I've bought quite a few blems from Kershawguy (I think ~ 10) and haven't had a single problem with any of them so far.

Sounds like Kershawguy is the way to go for buying a blem. I'm sure thinking of getting a ZT blem from him as my first ZT sometime soon.

I've gotten (15?) blems from kershawguy and they're just as great as non-blem Kershaws. Fast shipping too.

I'm really trying to find the problem with this one and other than the xxxx on it I just can't find the problem. Question though, is the thumb stud the exact same size on both sides of the blade? Mine is smaller on one side. Wondering if that is what made it a blem.

Blems aren't anything to be afraid of, my Blur S60v blem is my favorite knife, i just wish i would have bought more of them, so i could have a user, a collector, and a few gift/trade knives.

Do not hesitate buying from.Dave(kershawguy) as you can see.nothing but great reviews and happy customers, and definitely count me as one of those

i bought a green needs work blem from kershaw guy and i love the knife. can't find anything wrong with it.

i just ordered my second knife, an s30v blur, from dave this morning. i ain't scared o' no bleems :)

Just picked up two blem Blurs from Kershawguy, one black and one tanto for a project. The black is obvious as it has the wrong model number on the blade. The tanto however, it's a good thing I don't work in Kershaws QC because I would have let it go retail as I can't find a thing wrong with it!

The Kershaw blems are definitely a great value if you're looking for a user.

I just sealed a trade which includes 3 Kershaws.A black/white smoke Leek,a blue Needs Work and a blem Kershaw Rake that came from Kershawguy. Did the fact that the Rake is a blem make me hesitate on doing the trade? Not at all,it is/will be a user blade. If you want a desktop diva by factory firsts, but I'm not one of these guys that buys knives just to have them around as decorations.I buy knives to carry and use and sometimes abuse if the situation calls for it.As I add more Kershaws to the stable, you can bet if Kershawguy has a blem I'll buy it first and save some $.

All the knives I buy are users, the blems Kershawguy sells are, in my opinion the best deal going. As soon as I can slip it past the CFO (my wife) I'm placing another order as I've lost my g10 leek at work this week. :grumpy:

All my knives are users and I have purchased several blems over the years for friends as well as myself. No issues other than when can we buy more? Thanks Dave.

Don't hesitate to get a blem, especially from Kershawguy. I just opened my second order from Dave this morning, a Packrat and a Skyline, both of them blems; like everyone else has commented, I honestly can't figure out what makes them blems (and I am fairly picky, and used to work in QC at a stamping plant). My first order was a couple of months ago, a red Snap-On Skyline (first), and an OD-I blem, and after all this time, I still can't figure out why the OD is a blem.

BTW, great shipping speed, Dave, thanks!

I wouldn't buy them. I know that they're perfectly functional, and you probably won't need the customer service, but Kershaw's customer service is so good that I buy factory firsts just in case.

I'm the same way. Though the only knives I would say to actually stay away from those with safety locks (1600, 1620, and 1660). Because while CS will sharpen out chips, they won't replace blades. And those models can only be sharpened so far before they no longer reach that safety clip. Other models, like the 1670, 1820, 1840, etc can be sharpened down quite a ways and still be useful and safe.

since i use/work all the knives i buy, i strongly prefer buying blems; i like the big savings on a knife that is for all intent and purposes the same as the full priced first..
