I am impressed with these whittling skills.Right at home between two old favorites.
And she does well in hand. I really like the Congress pattern handle. Very comfy. Though I had a Congress when I was a kid, it’s been gone 20 years.
Thanks. It is red aromatic cedar. It whittles nice and smells wonderful.Great eye for proportion on those ornaments. You’ve inspired me to try to make one myself! What kinda wood is that?
This Viking was hiding in a cedar limb. My first attempt at a face. Now, get to work.View attachment 1902180
I hope you asked mom first!I got energetic and did my first captured ball. My youngin brought me a block and said whittle this one so how could I turn it down.
I actually did it mostly in the house. She sweeps up the mess for me every day around my chair.I hope you asked mom first!
I always keep a handkerchief on me so I can whittle the shavings into it...I actually did it mostly in the house. She sweeps up the mess for me every day around my chair.
That's funny- I do the same thing with our fire place. I just accumulate all the shavings in the fire box. With a wood stove, the small debris is constant in winter. Whittling just add to the tinder. Sweep the pile over to the stove. We’re simple folk.
