Thanks. It is red aromatic cedar. It whittles nice and smells wonderful.

I actually did it mostly in the house. She sweeps up the mess for me every day around my chair.

I always keep a handkerchief on me so I can whittle the shavings into it...
...(because we don't sweep the house that often!)

That's funny- I do the same thing with our fire place. I just accumulate all the shavings in the fire box.

Nothing feels as good as a nice warm fire on a cold day, and whittling a project makes it that much more special.

When Paul gifted me this pocket carver he asked that I put it to use.

See the blade spine where it’s turned color from being in hand so much? That’s pretty cool. The little blades have the same grey spines. I let it set a few days and it had a spot of rust, oops.
