Blind Horse Knives, What do you think?

Can't really say, I haven't owned the Cascade but I'm sure it's a fine knife. The blade profile reminds of the Bush Baby and if that's the case it will handle all of your proposed tasks just fine. I have no preference between D2 or the 01 steel.

Having not taken the MUK into the field yet I can't say for certain. Having it in hand I'm tempted to suggest that you get the Camp MUK. That way if you don't like it maybe you'll sell me yours :)

The full size MUK just feels right. I would think the Cascade a better carver, not heaps better but a more traditional shape.

When you get that MUK some use, please post your thoughts. I'm right now deciding between a camp muk and the full size muk. something to fit the niche between a small fixed blade (i.e. izula most likely) and my esee6. i'm leaning toward the full size muk b/c of the longer handle and i think the camp muk may be a bit too close to the smaller izula II i plan on getting. if you've got any more input on the muk vs the camp muk (from what you gather based on seeing it online) that'd be great!

I'd say the full size would fit your bill with it's 4" blade. That seems to fall right in the middle of your other two knives. I don't think you'll be disappointed in either size though. I'll let you know how it works out in the field but it's gonna be a week or two before I have chance to get out.

I only own one BHK a large tiger knapp and it's a very simplistic straight forward knife with some of the best blade seel I have ever used their O1 tool steel is amazing stuff and I had no trouble getting this knife litterally hair whittling sharp I for see many more blind horses in my future.

I have the boat tail scandi. In all respects an alright using knife, but I found the finish too be a bit rougher than I appreciate. I think they are a great deal for the price, but i prefer Bark river in terms of grinds and finish (they are also double the price--but that doesnt matter to me).

I had a similar experience,

Once upon a time a japanese higonokami got me into very hard steels, I thought san-mai blades were the answer to everything and bought a couple fixed blades with it. Then I tried a BHK and found it to hold its edge almost as long, while being much tougher and easier to sharpen. I highly recommend BHK knives, one of the best I've ever gotten to use.
