Hi all, I recently picked up a Blind Horse Knives Woodsman Pro, said to be from the first production run. It has the green-black micarta scales and a snap-over sheath. Is there anyway to tell if it's from the first run? I'd like to know before I put it through its paces. I bought this one to be a user.

Was the green-black color option only available on the first run? I've heard something to that extent in two places now, but wasn't that always one of the BHK handle-color options? Was the first Woodsman Pro run only 70 knives or was it extended to more which were shipped later?

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Also, was the convexed bevel done only on the Woodsman Pro? On their other models? I just cut out the notch on a bow drill fireboard, and never I have done that with such ease. Amazing!

Got any pictures of it? Usually first production runs have certain markings on them.

Does it have a PT stamp?

I have a custom Woodsman Pro in saber grind that is one of my favorite blades.

I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow. I don't see any markings out of the ordinary, just a BHK logo and an "O" on the non-presentation side of the blade...I assume that the O means O1 steel...an assumption though.

It's saber grind with a convex bevel, green-black micarta scales, O1 steel, comes with a snap-over leather sheath with a firesteel holder. The sheath has "20" stamped on the back under the belt loop. I take this to mean sheath style #20.

I have a BHK Woodsman Pro that I bought as the September 2011 special offering (I think what you are calling first production run). Most of this is from memory, and just started packing to move so the knife is in a box somehwere. I will see if I can dig it out tomorrow. Believe this was before they started marking their blades to indicate the original offering. Thinking it just had the BHK symbol and the O (yes, for O1 tool steel). As I recall, that was the only handle option, but I'm thinking you could get the regular pouch sheath or the snap-over. I can't comment on the number produced, but I do think they may have started selling the knife after the special offering.

Just found this link - scroll down to the Sept 2011 special to see...........

Thank you very much for that info, usmcdjb! The September Special (2011) looks like what I have, but not sure if it's not a later release. Either way, I love this knife. That link is great! Huge thanks!
