i have had my eye on Blindehorse knives for quite sometime now.. they make some great looking knives, all meant to be used..

the folks over at BHK have a special each month, via their website.. most of them are knives that aren't in their lineup yet, like these 2, done in small runs or variations of existing models...
www.blindhorseknives.com

i was fortunate enough to score two BHK knives in the past month.. both are amazing quality and wicked sharp... they also came with some really nice sheaths.. i believe that Dan's wife makes all of the sheath's as well..

anyhow, on to some pics..

the first is the Nov. special a.k.a. "the long trail"..

i love the general size and design of this knife.. i generally tend to carry knives in this size range often... the spearpoint shape of this blade make it an excellent cutter...

specs.

- 1/8" thick O1.
- just shy of 7" with a cutting edge of 3".
- nice polished Green Canvas Micarta handle scales with two brass pins and thong tube.

i love the BHK logo.. i think it looks great on the blade...

here's an in hand shot, for the folks that need it.. i have Med. (hobbit) sized hands... the handle fits my hand comfortably and feels nice and solid with a full grip..

the factory sheath it came with is well made, but is just a little too deep for this one and luckily i had another made for it...

i bought this knife in the exchange, from a fellow forum member who also makes really nice custom concealex sheaths.. i had him make one up form me before he shipped it out.. i came out great..

i have had this one for a few weeks now and it has been seeing a lot of use... i took it out on a hike today and it helped make some lunch...

now on to the Dec. special.. "the boat tail scandi"... (yes Mtnfolk has a scandi and has given in)

my oh my is this thing nice... this is my first scandi and i am really impressed with it... it is insanely sharp... i have only used it a few times around since i got it on Friday afternoon.. i am really looking forward to getting to use this one some more...
i was instantly attracted to the simple design of this blade.. it almost sort of like a tanto design, with the shape of the handle...

specs..

-1/8" thick 1095 carbon steel.
- edge is 3.25".
- handle length of 4.5"
- OAL of 7.75".

does this knife look sharp or what..

IMG_6726.jpg

the BHK logo is a little bigger on this model.. it looks way cool..

IMG_6727.jpg

the handle is nice and filling in the hand.. i like the little extra length...

a spine shot..

IMG_6728.jpg

this one came with a very well made dangler style sheath.. it compliments the knife very well... i wet formed mine a little, to make the drawing of the knife a little easier...

That last one reminds me a lot of the cobbler blades that Ragner used to sell. Thanks for the review!

Wow they both look great, man I could really do with winning the lotto !!!!

Those are both great blades in sweet sizes. The Landi Hunter i just bought had the hollow grind done by Blind Horse. They did an amazing job.
Where are they out of?

Beauties! That Boat tail scandi is a real looker!

Where in the mountains are you?

Hot dog, that BHK Scandi is pretty! I'll have to give this some thought, after Christmas.
