Blindly purchased a Leatherman Surge

Which model has the better knife option?
Charge TTi has a one-handed opening, externally-accessible, liner-locked blade of S30V. It's currently the cream of the crop, of multi-tools.

My old Charge Al has a 154CM blade, which is no slouch either.

A lot of us carry a multi-tool and its crappy 420HC blade is considered only a back-up to our "proper" knife. For others, it's the blade for the dirty or abusive jobs.

No matter how you slice it, a MT is not going to give the fiddling satisfaction of a good folder.

Only the SOG PowerPlier is close. (it opens butterfly style)

I have been lusting on surge, not because I need it but because I want it. :D
I don't think it would be a bad idea to have backup multitool though..

I am happy user of Vic SwissTool spirit, but I really like some things and features on Leather multitools like Surge.

...(I have a bad habit of "gifting" folks my multi-tools for helping me with something so I can get a new one...).

Uh.... is there anything I could do for you???? :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I have an original PST and a Charge TTI. Happy with them, but they are heavy to pocket carry.

The answer to the heavy for pocket carry MT:

We make em for the Wave, Surge, Wingman and CS3. These are the MTs I have wooden forms for.
