Blizzard Survival products with Reflexcell

he Blizzard Survival Bag is a full-sized sleeping bag in a pack the size of a video cassette, providing total warmth and shelter - anywhere, at any time. Made with Reflexcell™, it is the new standard in thermal performance.

Fairly optimistic. "anywhere" "any time"

Warmth: 8 Togs - equal to a medium weight regular sleeping bag.

If you are confused about what a 'Tog' is like I was - it is a thermal unit used in the textile industry for duvet's and carpet underlayment for instance.

A Spring/Autumn weight duvet is about 9.0 - 10.5 'tog'.

So - this 14 ounce thing keeps you about as warm as a duvet. I am not sure the rating of a duvet - but for another 5 ounces I can carry a down bag and be guaranteed 30 degrees rating at about the same size when packed.

I think this would be a great idea as an emergency blanket - but to use the 'repackable' sleeve as anything other than a summer cover would be foolish.

To brand it as a 'blizzard Bag' when it is as warm as a Spring Duvet - seems... well... like advertising gone wrong.

However, this is why we need a universal testing system for temperature ratings. You can darn near claim anything with sleeping bags and face no reciprocity.
