I have never heard it a called a blood gully before, pretty neat. Anyhow folks do it in a variety of ways. Some use the vertical mill, some use a small wheel on their grinder, and some use a two handed scraper type tool. There was a thread a while back where somebody actually showed how to make one of those two handed scrapers and use it.

And some people forge them in and (if needed) clean them up with a scraper. And they're definitely called fullers.
