Blood Mtn Hike

Some pics from a hike up Blood Mtn in NE Georgia in late August.

The way up.

A platform someone had built. Notice the thin, fragile cord on the left holding it up. I did not...

Blood Mtn Shleter built by the Civilian Corps in early 1900's at the top of the mountain along the AT.

The spot. Had lunch and a little rest with an awesome view. Too bad it was a little overcast...

Um...time to go.

The trail back down. Most of the "trail" was like this, more like boulder hopping and climbing, but fun!

Back on flat ground and beautiful GA forest.

On the way out, sun was back in full force.

I would have tried, but the place was swarming with a 4-H club, didn't want to freak them out.
