Holy Oinkin' Thunder!!!!!. . . . The trough has been so completely dessimated at the BLADE Show that there is literally nothing left behind!!!!. . . .

Many blades that were partially finished and did not make it to the BLADE '07 Show will need to be finished before we can have the BloodBathAganzaaaa. . . .

So, with this in mind we will be postponing the BloodBathAganzaaa for "2 weeks" until we catch up. . . .

We promise to have a wide assortment of unusual blades for you to choose from and look forward to rocking the trough once again in early July!!!!

Congrats to all who scored at the the Show... . . I've never seen anything like it before in the history of the BLADE Show. . . nor has anyone else!!!!

Sorry for anyone who has been inconvenienced by this change of schedule. . . but don't blame me. . . . Blame the HOGs!!!!!!

Nuke on my wayward HOGs. . . . I'm on my way to the HOGduction!!!!!

Jerry :D

The demand seems to be rapidly increasing and Jerry needs to EXPAND operations in an attempt to keep up. 'Till then, we wait patiently ( suffer in more or less silence ) for those tempting INFI carrots, dangling ever farther out of reach (for us mere piglet wannabes) at the end of a lengthening stick. BUT....
Our people in uniform deserve the best and if that is who we're waiting on, by all means Jerry, make sure that every one in harms way that needs one or more of your superlative blades gets them. They certainly need them more than I or the rest of us who are safe at home to enjoy the freedoms that their time, effort and other sacrifices do so much to ensure. STILL...
I really do want an ASH-1/SH1-A, a SFNO or two, an ...etc.,etc. Just need to practice my patience like everyone else, I guess. A safe and happy 4th for all and a salute to all who have served and those who do so now. Pete

All gone from what I understand... Jaxx got most of 'em.
It's just a shame there weren't more of them...

If he'd of brought more, I'd 'ave GOT more! ;) LOL
... Bit I'm sure that he hasn't forgotten about the 27JaxxBBQSauce_aGanzaaaa... Err :o ... I mean the BloodBathaGanzaaaa...!

pmsayre153, after meeting Jerry & Jennifer Busse for the first time, I can now say with fact that they know what they are doing. Provide the BEST highly useful product you can with the BEST warranty possible, & offer the BEST customer service you can to your clients, and you'll ALWAYS have increased demand. I feel lucky to get what I get, and I think he's on the mark with the knives sold to the private sector. :D BTW, we were all newbies once. :D:D  Muscle on in there and claim your knife! (...As long as it ain't MINE! ;) heh-heh!)

Jaxx,
To reply: I agree that the Busse's produce arguably the best blades on the planet with a guarantee second to none. I, too feel lucky to have gotten the blades that I do have. Seven in twice as many months and looking for more. One of my points was to opine that their customer base both civilian and military seems to be expanding faster than they can accommodate and indirectly bemoan the specter of Randall-like waiting periods to buy direct from Jerry and company.
In actuality, that is already the case for any particular model that you've just missed at both the Combat site and the Store. Buy after-market or :Three years plus the order and delivery periods and the unpredictable military orders would put your factory Hell Razor (e.g.) out to mid 2010 at best. I'll have the exact model that I've ordered from Randall by then ( 56 months ) and another that I ordered from a major dealer (the same month that I bought my first Busse, a HellRazor from the Store) probably before I get an ASH-1. Just a bit frustrating to see an outstanding blade that everyone is raving about slide away into the future as 4 weeks turns in 10-12 weeks and, surprise, yet something else to wait out. Don't get me wrong, the SS and SD are, I have no doubt, the outstanding blades that are the only things that Jerry and crew produce BUT, they are not what I and more than a few others are waiting breathlessly for. The ASH-1 / SH1-A is. SFNO a tie or too-close-to-call second.
Lastly, for now, I'd love to 'muscle my way in' and order 2 ASH's and 2 SFNO's. Where, exactly, do I order those at Combat Grade, with the blade finish and handle material and color of my choice for Busse Combat site or Company Store prices ? As a non-HOG, can't be done for me but the HOGs have theirs. By 'muscle', do you mean heft that mighty credit limit and spend ~$2800 - $3000 on Custom Shop knives that, with ever more patience required, will cost ~$1600 - $1800 total at BC/BCS? Not in that big a hurry. Thanks.
I have and will pay a reasonable premium for after market availability but I won't pay custom shop prices for finishes and materials/colors that I don't want. I'll wait to get what I want at a reasonable price as defined by Jerry, Jen and the rest of the Busse crew, not what some speculator thinks he can get for whatever he throws into the trough. Gee, do I have enough cheese to go with all my whine ?
Waiting not-so-silently, Pete.

all valid points sayre.

i missed blade as well, and i want a sh1-a badly. the ones ive seen for sale far exceed my price range. nor can i afford to order something from the custom shop.

i also wait not-so-patiently for the production run.

Pete, I'm pretty sure that civilian sales take a back seat to mili contracts pretty much everytime as a policy @ Busse... I may be wrong here, but knowing how Jerry feels, I'll walk out that limb; and since we cannot see the Busse compound for all we know, he may be expanding the operation as we talk here... I don't know. If so, he needs to find good & skilled people who can pass the required steps to begin working & producing quality knives to his satisfaction... Seems that might take some time... He must also get the increased necessary work space and equipment... More time. If he needs to construct more buildings, THAT will take some time too... I'm just speculating here, but he & his wife definitely know what they're doing, and have been very successful at this so far, and I see nothing but positive growth for BusseCombat/SwampRat/ScrapYard Knife Co.'s in the future.
Also... as a new HOG, I just gotta say that while I am honored to stand amongst some very fine people in this 'group'... you do realize that this is an 'honorary' title, and has no real powers over other buyers, right? It's not like I can call up, order a special blade, find out that it could take 6 months, and since I'm a HOG, "Oh, for YOU, Sir, that'll be... 5 days."!! LMAO! We all wait. We all pay the same prices from the source. We are all pleased when they arrive. At least I am!! :D ... I'm sorry that you are having trouble getting the blade that you want.
BTW even though Randall knives are slow to arrive, I notice that they still sell, and at hefty prices, no questions asked. :) Be patient, that ASH-1'll be coming soon enough. :D ...And it'll be WORTH the wait.

Jaxx:)

one of these days I'll get a moab in the mail and think "what the hell is this???.... w.... did I.... when.... huh...." and I'll walk into the house with a bewildered look on my face until I remember that I actually ordered it...

but it will be nice to have :D

One of these days I hope to be able to make the knives I want out of truck springs, and not have to wait so long for a basic shape/design, but rather wait for its companion in infi.

difficult, but worth it in the end....

JAXX,
Thanks for the reply. I think I touched on Busse & the military in my first post on this thread. Those who serve certainly need them more than I do. As to a possible/probable expansion of Busse production capability, doing so would/will be difficult and time consuming, all the more so because Jerry has set and met such high standards for his products and his people. ( A while back, I helped a small company in Denver expand a bit by constructing and supervising the operation of a small specialty products production cell which, I'm proud to say, had a 100% acceptance rate for the 1st six months. I was told by an old-timer that that was an industry first. Damned hard work. Burned me to the waterline. They're still in that business. I'm not.) I'm sure that Wauseon hums with the activity at Busse Combat as they all 'bust their humps' to fill their orders ASAP. Glad they got at least part of a week off after the 4th because I've no doubt that BLADE was more hard work in a different town.
Speaking of BLADE, thought I'd heard that HOGs got a deal on blades not available to the gen'l public. (deal &/or blades nattgp ?) Could be wrong but seems I recall some hoping to achieve HOGdom to get said deal. In any case, I'm sure that they didn't give you each 50 lbs of INFI in the configurations of your choice or otherwise threaten to make Idahoskunk's master archive of Busse handiwork less than unique. Even given said 'deal', afterwards I imagine that y'all do line up at the trough like the rest of us, waiting for farmer Jerry to dole out the next offering or Garth to get to your order.
As to Randall, I ordered those before I discovered Busse, and, yes, the phenomenal waiting period seems to do little but add to the mystique of Randall Made but I believe that there is a fine line in there. I prefer to support the makers of high quality goods by buying directly from them or from authorized dealers, getting what I seek at what they see as a reasonable price. For me and, I suspect, most, high-end knives are a luxury item and, as such, are rather expensive to begin with. The long waiting periods drive more customers to the aftermarket seeking a quicker fix than factory direct and the resulting mark-ups drive some out of the market completely. Although I am loathe to suggest raising prices unnecessarily, perhaps if Busse charged a bit more and used said 'extra profit' to expand and give a quicker response time in return. Just a thought. ... Brainstorm. Jerry, take Busse Combat public with a limited offering to your fanatic (in a good way) customer base to raise the necessary capital, expand carefully to keep quality stratospheric and make us all rich ! I'm in, who's with me ? ...
Back to Earth. We're all in the same boat waiting for the ASH-1, the return of the SFNO or whichever Busse you daydream about. Just need to suck it up and tough it out. Practice my patience. (Some day I'll get good at it.) Thanks for letting me vent. Thanks for listening/ reading. Pete

Supposedly there is going to be one knife offered to inducted hogs. It hasn't been offered yet.

My guess is that it's going to be a unique handle/finish/engraving on a production knife, not some outrageous offering that you would trade your first born for. I'm sure it will be nice and non-hogs will be a little jealous but it won't be Hogs get knives and every one else gets nothing.

Similar things happen all the time. Ferrari goes even further, you couldn't get an Enzo unless you were already a very very good customer (I think they are called Tiffosi).

Ohhhhh.... I really want the yellow and black straight handle SH Custom... PLEASE oh PLEASE let it be in the Ganzzaaa!!!!!!!
