I've got my black/red SH1A. I'm just lusting for my giraffe at this point.

Definitely back-heavy. Balance point is around the first fastenerhole. You've gotta choke up a decent amount to get a chopping blow for it. My SHSH seems better balanced. (Obviously b/c it's an inch longer.)
