Around how many cfm's do I need for a blower on a forge. Ive been using my shop vac but I need to get a dedicated blower.

I use a 60CFM blower and it is more than enough, so i'd say 50 to 60cfm + a valve to cut off airflow and you'll be set.

warrior24, I have the 112CFM version of the blower Jacob sites and even it is essentially too much for anything but really large gas forges. Welding is a piece of cake. You could easily get by with a cheaper blower in the range Justin mentioned.

I'm using a 100 cfm pole blower on my large ht forge and it is more than enough.

thanks guys, I like the one Pimpin posted but I don't have that much cash. But at least I now know what to look for:)

I bought the one mentioned in I.G.'s forge tutorial. It doesn't cost much. I has more CFM than I can use. (I barely crack open my gate valve) Secondly it has a second side for an "Air Curtain"

Warrior, check with a local heating and air place for an induced draft assembly off of a gas furnace. I bet you could get one before they go into the scrap pile for next to nothing.
