I have the 2X42 grinder with the Pyrex platen. As the subject line suggests, I don't have as much of a problem with static electricity with other belts, as I do with these.

Am I imagining things? Maybe there is a short in my grinder somewhere, but it really seems to happen more when I am using a blue 220 grit belt. The really flexible kind.

Suggestions on how to eliminate this?

Spray a little bit of anti-cling (anti-static/static guard) spray on the back of the belt.

Could be your electrifying personality.......

I used to feel a little shock occasionally while working at my grinder that was mounted to a metal table. Turns out I had a bad ground at the outlet, and the metal dust was getting into places it shouldn't and electricity was also getting into places that it shouldn't.

I've had it happen a few times. On a bad day its like touching an electric fence. Either use anti static spray or find a safe way to ground yourself to the grinder.
