I just bought 6 large boxes of the large kitchen style strike anywhere matches at the local Ace Hardware affiliate for $0.87 each. Look for Ace hardware affiliates in suburban or rural areas and you should be able to get them as well.

I've been in the habit of buying strike anywhere matches when I see them. Last time I brought a couple of boxes home, the wife opened the laundry room cabinet and made me aware of the fact that I have enough of the things to construct a small cabin.
