isn't that Jay Z and Beyonce's baby name? No, thats Blue IVY. Never mind.:D
But seriously, what we have here are 6 pairs of mammoth ivory scales that I acquired in the past from two of the kings of fossil ivory. Sets 1-5 were previously selected by Don Hanson III, the undisputed king of fossil ivory hoarders. Don prefers very thin ivory for his very sleek folders and these were a bit too thick, so he sold them. They are the blue and green ones. They are all very nice as you would expect if you have ever watched Mr. Hanson cleaning out all of the ivory dealers on Thurday setup day at Blade. The larger scales of brown mammoth were bought about 2 years ago from Charles Turnage, who always has nice stuff.

6. Brown, nice and thick, 4.25 x 1.4 x .310 at the thin end to almost. .375 at the thick end. These are fro the inside of the tusk and have the bowed shape so you could get a nice flared butt. I had grandiose plans of using these for a frame handled Price style knife, but that never materialized. Comparable scales on Mr. Turnage site would go for at least $180-200. Your price, SOLD PRF
