blue titanium anodized hardware ?

I know I should stay out of it but.... I looked all over the Hinderer website and I couldn't find anywhere that they advertise the anodized parts as hardcoat. Most knife people know that titanium anodizing is only a few microns thick. I never knew that sweat could melt anodizing. Interesting. And false I believe.

One carried a dozen times, the other a dozen months.
Can Anyone actually "tell" the difference?

^^^^^ Why yes I can Mr. Rubi....... ones "blue" and ones "bronze". Am I right, or am I right?!?! Because if I'm not (and we're looking for differences in something else)....... I don't know what to tell you. ;)

I know this is not really a "useful" comment in this thread........but every time Rubi gets addressed as "Mr. Rubi" it makes me laugh......
I don't know why.....
Perhaps there is something wrong with me......but I find it funny........:D

As far as the ano goes.....the three I carry most often have all held up very well.....they have to be wiped occasionally because they get finger oils on them......that tends to make the blue "look" like it is fading a little and it makes the bronze one go a little purple-ish......which is actually kind of cool.......
But a quick wipe and they are back to new......

Oh....and Mr. Rubi......the XMs are stunning.......I do love the look, feel and heft of the full-ti Hinderers.......

I honestly want to figure out why some people are having wear problems with knives. I'm just gonna tell why I'm so curious.

I have a lot of yoyos and some high dollar ones ($500-$800) which are titanium with ano that doesn't wear at all with way more handling than the usual handling of a knife. Gotta be a simple explanation. I spoke to a couple yoyo msnufacurers about their Ti stock and they use grade 2 pure 99% supposedly.

The only wear I've had is the thumstud of a CRK, nothing on new Hinderer parts. Blue should have a thicker layer than bronze so logic says bronze should wear faster which in Mr Rubis case should take a very very long time. I don't know if talking about etching would fall under some Stickies so just leaving it alone. But if one really likes ano a redip at home is quite cheap compared to many knives we purchase ;-).

IMO the initial "Question" was answered. Only point (in my postings) here and in another thread was to show Pics of multiple RHK ano items that I have carried/used/rinse/repeat - extensively and they have performed (held up) remarkably. Both knives and pens.....
There are simply TOO Many variables to run this issue to ground anymore than it already has.
There is no magic "color" or methodolgy.
I say, for anyone desiring an item in RHK ano - Go for it.
IF anyone has concerns about ANY item looking the way it did when the UPS guy delivered it - several years down the road.....Get the SW finish.
Ano, DLC, WF, Satin, BB, will ALL bow to the SW for age defying performance. There is a word..... "Patina" know it, Love it, Cherish it...

That is some funny stuff.
