Blue weave CF Domino or ZT 0770CF which one for edc and why?

I need help deciding which one I should go with. I love the looks of both of them and both flippers so it's hard. I usually prefer non assisted knives so that makes the domino look better. I've heard some say the 0770 de-assisted works great and others say the detent isn't strong enough. What's everyone's thoughts on the two? Does the Domino have a real smooth action without having to use the wrist flick? Which makes a better edc and which blade steel has better edge retention? They would mostly be used for general edc tasks like cutting boxes and rope and food prep type stuff. Sorry for all the questions I'm just really torn on the two. Thanks for any help.

I had a Domino and sold it, I have handled the 0770CF and I wasn't crazy about the assist but I liked the Ergos, the weight and almost everything else about it. The Domino was very well made and finished but it didn't fit my hand that well it felt sharp on the edges, I wasn't nuts about the scale and it is a good flipper (no wrist flick required) but not like ZT's line-up. The ZT 0801 is an amazing flipper so is the 0562 (the CF version is a good comparable I think). If it were me (and it's not :-) I would go for either of these over the Domino or the 0770 if you like assisted.

On the plus side the Domino is FFG so it is a better slicer and the steel is great. I have had no issues with the Elmax on my recent ZT's though so I can't fault them either, that said I am not steel junky so all these higher ends steels work great for me.

I agree that the Domino is a really nice knife, but it was never quite right for me, and I wound up selling it.

I recently bought a light user 0770CF, and once I polished the pivot washers and NanoLubed it, it has been in my pocket constantly (along with my 0600 and Kershaw LFK, doing a small/medium/large thing lately). It flips quite well deassisted using either the pushbutton method or a deliberate lightswitch method.

Between the two, I would suggest the 0770.

I can not speak to the domino nor can I claim I edc my Zt 770 cf.

I use my Zt 770 cf solely for river fishing. Much like I use my Ruanas solely for huntingand I personally edc a variety of CRK's. In all cases, there is IMO no better tool for the job. The Zt is lightening fast, super light, thin in and out of my vest, and extremely durable. i have never been anything but impressed for my purposes. Not sure I would trust it holding up to the rigors or my style of back country hunting culminating in cleaning out an elk, nor would I want to punish it through my monthly activities and expect the Elmax to hold an edge like s35vn. Not saying it couldn't stand up to either, I just feel I have better tools for the job. Maybe it's just the nostalgic value I put into knives I choose for the task, but I have found it works for me.

That all being said, I can do nothing but give a huge thumbs up for the Zt 770 cf. 👍🏻

Deassisted mine and it flipped like a dead fish. Zero detent, blade barely held into the handle. But assisted, it's a lightning bolt. It's one of those things where you have to wonder why you would dislike the assist...isn't the point of drawing a knife to get it ready for action as soon as possible? It's just part of the package for the 0770. Domino has more ways to hold, and the ffg is super slicey, but the 0770 blade is very similar and has stonewashing to hide wear. It's a coin flip but the 0770 is still in my collection and the Domino just got sold, soooo...

I only have the blue twill Domino, no 0770, and love it!
Flips retarded fast....can also flick with thumb or middle finger....excellent F&F, great steel and very well made.
Great knife IMO.

I much prefer non assisted knives, but assisted really doesn't bother me. I'd never consider deassisting a knife. The 0770 makes avery nice EDC.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I have a 0562CF on the way already. Guess I probably should have said that but I forgot lol. I do prefer spyderco's thumb hole to a stud. I think the hole is far superior to me anyways and I can open easiest with the middle finger flick. Was leaning toward the Domino for that reason but now don't know. Sounds like a lot of you like the 0770cf.
