I've not used bluetooth headphones, are these compatible with pretty much anything with bluetooth connectivity? Last earphones I had with the buttons on the wire only worked with apple gadgets.

Yes, the work with my iPhone. You just power them on and hold the button to pair. It's nice to hot have the wires and keep your hands free to work on stuff.
