So I've been reading up on it and I decided to try out one of my blurs as non-assisted. I took out the torsion bar, cleaned it up a bit, and now am looking forward for work tomorrow. It actually flips out really well. If I open it like I open my 0550, it feels very similar. Anybody have any positive feedback with it as well?

When I say "it feels very similar", Im talking about the simple action of flipping it open with my thumb. Not so much as in the smoothness or texture with the 0550.

I think the general consensus is that the blurs are much better without the torsion bar. I know I enjoy mine much more this way.

I don't mind the assist action itself, but I couldn't stand the rattle when it was open so I took them out of the two of mine. The CPM154 version is especially smooth.

I really enjoy the blur assisted and with the torsion bar removed. I flip my blur a good deal, so I decided to leave it assisted until the torsion bar breaks, and then just leave it de-assisted. Sure enough, that bar broke first thing yesterday morning and I now have an incredibly smooth, manual S30V Blur. I did get another bar from Kershaw, so I will make it assisted again, but for now it will remain as a manual folder.

Thanks! Yeah I have noticed the smoothness after playing around with it since last night. I think I'm going to leave it that Way!

Leave it that way! I love my de-assisted Blur. I de-assisted it yesteday, and it'll be staying that way for the rest of It's life.

I've de-assisted all my 5 blurs.

Love assisted...but love a smooth easy action even more.

All of mine are de-assisted. At first I didn't like it as much but now there is no going back!

I de-assisted one of mine this weekend, I like it a LOT better. Very smooth. I also de-assisted my ZT0350 and like that better as well.

My CF blur didn't want to be de-assisted. It wouldn't close all the way without the torsion bar........So I put it back in. Oh well. At least my tanto blur likes being de-assisted.

Is there something about the blur's speedsafe compared to other speedsafe kershaws that annoy people? I would never want to get rid of my volt and clashs' speedsafe. They are just so fast! You open, and close really fast, AND it looks cool :)!

People like the Blur without the assist because it's so smooth without the assist.
