Blur or Cyclone

I can't help the addiction of buying knives and I'm getting into Kershaw. They feel a lot tougher than other brands. What is the biggest difference between a Blur or a Cyclone.

size, price, number of steels to choose from. both are great. the cyclone is more sheeple friendly though with its "on-off" switch.

there are a few (unrelated to measurements and shape):
1. The cyclone has a flipper in addition to the thumbstud
2. The cyclone has a bypass which can disable the Assist Opening
3. The blur seems thinner and lighter to me.
4. The Cyclone has the trac tech inserts

Same:
1. Both are liner locks except the ZDP Mini Cyclone which is a frame lock
2. similar pricing

Dang, I must have a different set of (4) Cyclones, as none of mine have any sort of inserts..

BTW...Get a Cyclone, or if you're REALLY feelin' frisky, get a ZT 0200.:D.

Both are of the same build quality. I prefer the blur becuase i like less features and its simple design. Either way. They're great knives.

just get both

They are both great knives with super ergonomics and build quality. That said, for me, the Blur holds a slight edge in comfort.

I like the Blur for the way it carries in the pocket, it's overall weight, and the purchase the handle gives you. Blade to handle vs the Cyclone is better as well.

The dual action and flipper stand out in the Cyclone's.

There have premium steels used in both: Blur - S30V, SG2, Mini Cyclone - ZDP-189

That said, for me, I'd go standard Blur, or if I was gonna splurge Ti/ZDP Mini Cyclone.

ZDP is a great steel.... a monster cutter. The key is never letting it get dull, and all you gottsta do is give it a couple swipes with a ceramic rod from time to time. Don't wait for it to dull

I just received a blur for Christmas and it has been a great knife so far. I really like how slim it is in the pocket compared to its overall size
I don’t have a cyclone to compare it to, so I’ll just leave it to- buy them both, decide which one you like more, and send the other to me;):D

You can always add the trac tech material on your Cyclone (or any knife). Mine got a little slippery as I work with oiled and greased materials while wearing fairly heavy gloves. A little bit of trac tech fixed it up.
