I have one knife that only has tip down right-hand carry. I use tip up for everything else, but am wondering if that's such a good idea for the de-assisted Blur since the detente is so weak. I also have never heard the arguments that tip down is safer, and would like to understand that. I like tip up only because it places the knife in an intuitively better position for quick opening in emergencies. For right-hand carry it also places the spine of the blade against the seam of the pocket helping to keep it closed. Tip down puts the blade forward and I would think that the most dangerous place to get cut is the femoral artery. Does tip down carry make that more or less likely? I don't know, but it would be interesting to find out.
