For the past several months I have been looking for a nice fixed blade in a better steel than average (at least what I consider. aus8, 8cr, etc.) I usually only buy deals, prices that are about 40 or below what I can find online. I've had several other fixed blades but nothing up to par with my folding collection. Loved the Cold Steel SRK at first but after several camping trips the handle or grip started to wear and get sticky, couldn't have that any longer. Tried a Gerber Lmf 2 before that, which I also loved but the blade length with partial serrations just wouldn't cut it (pun intended) plus the fact is was a tad on the heavy side. Several others a buck, old timer, just weren't doing it neither was my Esee Izula. Started to look at Bradfords Guardians, Esee, CRK, Becker, Tops and several more. I just didn't want to break the bank for a fixed blade that I will only use for camping, bush crafting and utility work around the house/farm but still wanted a good enough steel I didn't have to sharpen after every use.
So I stopped at a local gun shop as they are a benchmade dealer. Usually to just check out what new folders they have. Stumbled across a 162, saw the price tag and couldn't pass it up.

Can't wait to use this thing in the field.

Yes folks, that's 109.99 USD. Hard to believe myself.
I assume that somebody hit the 0 instead of 8 on a keypad somewhere. Had to take advantage. After a 5% discount it came out to 113 and some change. Deals are out there, you just have to know where to look
Just thought I would share my awesome experience today.
