My BM 630 is looking like it is loosing color and it got me thinking how they gave the ti the colors. How did they get it just in the small holes in the handle?

Does anyone know?

Thanks,
John

630 Skirmish is a fave of mine.

I got mine used and the previous owner gave it the Oxyclean wash, which turned it a gunmetal gray look and got rid of all the colors in the holes. I love the look.. very basic and plain. I love the knife but hate those dumb colors they put on them.. I don't want any pink or purple on my knives.

Thanks Jill for the link.

I like the colors and that is the reason I picked it over the mini.

sometimes washing it with windex can bring the color back a little bit... not if it is worn off , but if it is just covered over with finger oil and the like...windex works :)

the windex will darken it a bit, everyone used to windex the handles on there cammilus maxx's, i liked the lighter color though.

if you carry a knife with ti handles (or anodised handles ) the ti (or the ano) is gonna scuff/scratchy with use, its just a fact of life with that kinda handles.

it bothers me but i like the ti enough i just learned to live with it.

Thats the funny thing, This knife has not been carried enough to cause marks on the ti scales, and the green anodizing for the bulk og the scales are just fine. It is the colors that are fading. The top hole has no color at all and all the other colors have fadded a bit.

gotta say i haven't ever had one do that, just fade, and i have had a LOT of ano'd ti or alloy handled knives, thats weird,

if its just fading ya might try the windex it should darken it a bit.
