Where is it possible to get a BM 705? Also how is the 707, any input from someone who owns one is very welcome...thanks Im jsut looking for a good EDC

705 is discontinued, but they show up from time to time both users and mint- they continue to have a loyal following. The 707 is a fine knife, thinner than the 705, blade has a bit more belly. There is a lE 707D2 available for right around $100, pretty good deal. I've owned both, and prefer the 707. For a knife in that size range both are excellent, should you come on a 705 buy it and try it out- you'll have no problem reselling it.

Yup finding a 705 has got pretty hard to do. And you are probably going to pay more than what a NIB 710 costs. The 707 is a fine knife if you don't mind the aluminum frame. I much prefer the SS liner and G10 scale combo that the 705 uses.

I was wondering about the aluminum frame is it sturdy and durable? also how is the grip on that?

I don't have any experience with the 705 but have owned a 707 for a couple years and think it's a great knife. It was my only EDC for over a year at work but now it shares the rotation with a Sebenza and Mini-Griptillian. I added the other two only to have a little variety.

Opening/closing are smooth as silk with never a problem with the Axis lock. Granted, being 2 years old some of the black finish has rubbed off the edges of the aluminum but the G10 inlays are still solid.

I have lots of knives on my list but at some point I'll be getting another just to make sure I have a spare if Benchmade ever decides to discontinue this model.

FWIW,

Dan

It's plenty durable I just don't like it and don't see any particular advantages to it. I however can see the reason for its use in autos.
