Why, oh, why is an M2 model not available?

Not sure, General. Perhaps the feeling is that the extra toughness of M2 is overkill and not really necessary in a blade that small. Just a guess.

I don't think the 705 is a big mover, and I'm betting the new 770 will further deplete its sales. Some retailers don’t even carry it in their line.

I personally found it uncomfortable to use and carry; I sold mine to David out in the Chech Republic.

We've been asking for a special run of M2 705's for a long time over at the BM forum. I was told it just wasn't in the cards.

The 705 is a great, great, great pocket knife. Key word is pocket; sure the 705 is small, it's supposed to be. It is my everyday carry, has been since May '99, and it compliments larger folders and fixed blades well. Furthermore, with more folders, production and custom, than people really should have, the 705S is still my favorite of all time.

I'm glad you like yours. People will agonize over it's size vs. handiness; people are people. If it works for you, great!

Ah I see now!
