I was so touched by Professor's review of the BM 705 axis lock, I went out and got one for myself. My impressions of ths little knife are high. It's a great package. I think this knife will make a good companion everywhere. I got the one with the BT coating, because I live in a humid environment, and I hate rust. I don't mind if the BT gets scratched up, because I got this knife to use, not to look at. Anyone out there looking for a great little EDC should go out and get one of these 705's. I don't know if I will carry this for 2 years like Professor has, but only time will tell.

Hey Professor - you should be keeping track of posts like this. I think Benchmade owes you a knife for every hundred or so. And they've given you, what- seven or eight by now?

USAFSP, glad you like it! There's no doubt that the 705 is great for everyday carry. It's stronger and more reliable than a knife its size needs to be, quick to open, close, and re-pocket, and it's good lookin' to boot. Can't lose. Please keep us posted on how you like it over time.

Professor.

I will keep you all informed on the status of my 705 carry. Today I cut some nylon fasteners. It's still goin' strong. THanx for the reply Professor.

I could copy USAFSP's original message in this thread exactly. Yes, my BM705 (BT blade) arrived today (finally), and I too, am really impressed with it - it's got a really smooth action, and I'm really impressed with this, my first, axis lock. Overall it seems like a nice, strong, relatively sheeple friendly (well more so that my SIFU anyway) knife, and I can well imagine it serving for years to come. Although, knowing my luck, I'll probably lose it later today!

Well after reading all the posts about the 705 I had to have one also and just recieved it in the mail today. It's a lot smaller than I thought but well made I like the 710 also but the only problem is with 705 it's not very sharp out of the box will not even shave arm hair other than that it should be a fun little knife. A couple minutes on the sharpmaker made it hair popping sharp.
