BM 710 vs Spyderco Military

Got both and an Endura, for using and carrying I prefer the Endura, cheaper than either, backlock, and VG-10.

I have both the Military and 710.

The 710 is a good sturdy folder, and I love the Axis lock.

However.
The Military takes the cake hands down. You have to remember that it is a cutting tool, not a pry-bar or hammer. If you intend on doing things other than cutting with your knife I would recommend the 710, but if you want something that will make cutting stuff feel as natural as possible you need the Military.
I keep getting more knives, and I keep putting the Military back in my pocket.

Yes, the shear cutting power of the military is quite alarming. It has a huge belly on that thin blade with an acute grind. The handle is also angled, large, and ergonomic so that you can get massive amounts of leverage. A NKP using it I could only imagine would end in disaster.

I have both. I prefer my new D2 Military to my 710. The Benchmade is fun to play with since it has awesome AXIS lock action, but the Spyderco is more useable for me.

The Mili is a great cutter, but the thumbstuds and Axis lock of the 710 make me favour it. I recently scored a new in box 710HS :

I have a 710 that I dearly love and usually wear it on my backpack
I also have 4 Militaries and always carry one of them in my right cargo pocket

Thanks for the replies. I haven't had a chance to respond b/c ailing mother and last night I stopped a burglary of my sister's house! She was home and called me. But I'll take it to Whine and Cheese later.

If you want to brag about either knife (or complain), I'd love to hear. Also when I have more time, I will participate in my own thread. :o

Anyway thanks. :)

Sorry to read about the recent event and of your ailing mother.

If you ask me now I'd tell you I prefer the Military. If you asked me last year, I might have told you the 710. It really comes down to what you look for in the folder. Whichever you choose, you've got a winner.
