I am curious to know why this knife seemed to get some hype and then disapear. In the "EDC thread" it is almost never mentioned and in most "recommendation threads" it is almost never mentioned. I have had mine now for over 6 months and I absolutely love it. It is a large knife in a legal package (I am not an attorney and do not play one on TV). The knife holds well in my large hands and holds an edge comparable to any other knife I own, and yes I own and have carried some high end knives. My only complaint is that I can not take it apart. Even with that said it has stayed pretty clean and despite several water and sweat abuses has shown almost no rust. I am not a big benchmade fan but I think they hit the mark for me with this knife. I am curious as to what everyone elses complaints or loves of this knife are?

Its not my everyday carry but I love it when I have it. It has a big feel in a sub 3" blade.

To be selfish, I'm thankful. I was able to get a mint one here for a great price. I guess it's size puts some people off, I can't think of any other reasons it would put some people off. It's a beautiful design very well executed. I love mine.

Mine is in the EDC rotation. Never had a issue with it so I don't mention it much. Just a great knife.

I don't think there was anything wrong with the design or quality of production. There was just a whole lot of very high quality and anticipated knives that followed and stole some of it's thunder.

Kershaw Volt, Speedform, Speedform 2, , Etc.

Spyderco: Ti Lum Chinese, Large Persian w/Red G10, Damascus Delica, Ti/G10 CPM M4 Millie, Etc.

Benchmade: Ritter grip? , 710 in M 390 ( 2 versions), Mini Grip in M390, Etc.

I could go on, but what's the point. So many really great knives are coming out it's absolutely amazing. Joe

It's a knife I keep on forgetting about until the name appears on a thread. What a mean looking little beast!

Some of the initial production knives (including mine) suffered from quality control problems, and I think some people (including me) were disappointed with just how heavy and thick the package is considering the short blade, as well as the fact that the blade is too thick to be much of a cutter. For heavy use I see the merit of the design, but for day-to-day use I find a lot of much lighter knives (e.g., the Spyderco Sages) more compelling. Still, I love the looks of the 755, and if you need a very heavy-duty folder, it's a valid option.

Never took a liking to mine.

Thumbstuds suck, the package is too thick, the blade is too thick for its munchkin length.

I recommend it to those that like oysters and clams, since the knife excells at opening the shells.

That sounds like one of the best ways I have heard yet, to remove one of those pesky fingers.

Nothing like trying to pry into a sealed shut mollusk with a razor sharp knife. That should provide entertainment for the whole family! Or at least the in-laws.

I never said it was sharp:D

LOL. Those new Benchmades must be coming even duller now.

And I was just joking around, wasn't trying to bust any appendages.

I looked into getting one of these scince I have joined these forums but for me its blade is to short I want it to be another half inch and its only tip down carry, I only carry tip up. Also I have heard a few complaints about blade retention

No problems with mine and I'm still lovin it! Its been my edc. It's thick and stubby; just the way I like it.

What he said. I still need someone to find a way to make it tip-up carry for me though.

You guys need to talk to Jeff Carte (The Sun). It looks like you want something like this. :D

The ergos never did it for me with this knife, felt weird in hand, framelock isn't lefty friendly imo, overall this knife just missed me.

I was really tempted by this offering when ever it first showed up with the new steel, and interesting design, I was very close to ordering one, but then decided to wait and see it in person first which is why I ended up not buying it, it felt way too thick for only being a 2.9 inch blade both the handle and the thickness of the blade, however if benchmade also released the Pocket Rocket I would most likely get one of those.
