BM 755 MPR, what do you think now?

My pusher sold the numbered ones quickly - I had to wait for the regular run. I never saw a problem in the original run - or the full production run - don't recall any mention of such on the BM forum, either. Mine is great - the neat clip, like my other clips, is in it's box - I like 'in the pocket' knives. It has been pushed out of EDC duties by other newbies - but only temporarily. It's always back - a useful design. I did finally have to touch it's edge up - the white (fine) ceramic files of the Sharpmaker made it a razor. Great knife.

Maybe the weight-to-size ratio is too much for most folks? For example, the 755 MPR weighs in at 5.5+ oz., where many other ti framelocks with ti or G-10 scales and the same blade length come in at roughly 3 oz.

You guys need to talk to Jeff Carte (The Sun). It looks like you want something like this. :D

That is awesome. Exactly what I want.

Hmm, there's nothing I particularly dislike about the knife, other than the overly thick blade and handles. It just couldn't beat my ZT 0301 for a spot in my pocket.

and still love it. I got 663 of 1000 for just over $100 on that auction site.

I was at a knife shop a couple weeks ago and was able to hold/handle one; the first BM folder I have ever touched. Thus the recent purchase.

Tony, thank you for the info. I love the flip on the clip, I will definitely look into it. I typically just put mine in my pocket. It is a little big but I love the way it fits in my hand. I posted this mostly because there is very little ever posted or said about it. When it first came out there were a few complaints but there is always someone to complain about every product. I love mine and love seeing feedback from people who feel the same way.

Not like anything I want!

Flippin clips takes a bit of ingenuity and room to accomodate. The BM 755 always struck me as a goofy looking POS, but it's a Benchmade so it must be good. Just can't figure it out?

I couldn't believe that Benchmade would make a knife like that which doesn't seem to have a target use other than being "cute?" Maybe a hard use knife for "little people" would be all I can think of, or small dainty woman hands. Kinda like a big tough knife for regular size guys, but not.

You might want to rephrase that

ROTFL...:D

I thought it was a well built smooth knife but a bit hefty , I wanted something more in the likes of a strider pt ... So I
traded it for one :D

When photos were first released, I was very excited. Then stats were released, and while 3.4" isn't ideal, it is still ok.
Then the actual stats were released and it was a sub 3" blade. At this point it lost nearly all of its appeal.

I bought one a little over a week ago and I like it,the thing is a mini tank of a folder and makes a nice EDC/EDU knife.
Thick? yea but it's really nice and sharp, heavy? I get pissy about this-when I hear someone bemoan a 5oz knife as "too heavy!" I have to fight the urge to tell that person to put the PS 3 controller down and push the Twinkies aside and go for a bloody walk!

One thing that's nice with it is the fact it doesn't look like some super commando knife with it's green/gray/silver finish that with it's size makes it as non threatening as can be had with a pocket knife.
I also like the thumbstuds as they sit up high enough that if you get wet hands and slip you can get your thumb up under the studs and open it,way too many studs sit too low and the knife becomes impossible to open with one hand when they're wet.

It's been combed with my VEX and Douk for my day in,day out knives.

I have had mine since the regular productions came out. I sent it to Tom Krein and he thinned out the blade with a hollow grind. My God is it sharp, also deepened the swedge. It is a cutter, no problems carrying, and Mr. Sibert designed it to be a thick sturdy knife and I like it that way, tough as anything out there really. Super thick ti liner. Love it.

i did alot of research on the internet and calling around a bit. the mpr's first production run had some blade retention problems, but that was fixed by the second run and the jimping on the spine is also a little more aggressive then the first run knives. i just ordered one of these and a zero tolerance 350. i like my folding pocket knives to be solid and capable just in case heavy use is required of them. for a more gentleman's type knife i also have on order a spyderco phoenix as some what of a more dressy knife, but once again the old school ball bearing lock is strong and is a great performer. these are the first real knives i bought besides a couple of bad ass beckers for camping in along time maybe 20 years lol. i think i did alot of research and made some solid choices for edc defense and utility. let me know what you think about these choices for folders i'm curious what the knife community will think of this lol.

just curious, how come you cant take it apart? I carry mine all the time and love it. the only complaint is the pocket clip really sucks in my opinion, too stiff. so I took it off and just throw it in my pocket. I polished the inside of the liners to a high gloss and the same with the PB washers so its very smooth.
