BM 940 Pocket Carry Question

Caution is great but we'd have heard about it if it was an issue - it's a "must have" knife for BM collectors and some folk would have been posting this kind of problem.[/QUOTE]

Thanks for the info. I figured forum members would know. The 940 has become my favorite EDC for afterwork and weekends, so I am pleased to hear it's not a problem.

I'm pretty sure the omega spring is the problem. I am with the others, the pivot screw has never given me problems, and is incredibly tight, very fast if turned even the slightest.

Dear jblane, In men's shirts the button hole (left) side goes over the button side. The opening faces right. Take the knife in your right hand and slide it inside (under) the shirt like you were going to clip a tie. It helps to support the cloth with your left hand. When you are done, the tip of the clip actually goes past the placket, the knife is roughly horizontal, the tip faces right, and the back of the blade faces the floor. You don't need to support the cloth to extract the knife. Third degree is OK. It's fourth degree that gets a little uncomfortable.

Thanks for breaking that down. I'm new to knives and wouldn't have thought the clip would be firm enough to keep the knife horizontal. But I just got my 940 in the mail and sure enough, it stayed put when I tried your method. Just another instance of how light and versatile the 940 is. That's a really useful place to keep a knife in some situations (such as driving), but since it's so visible I'd definitely go with the pants pocket in situations when a pocket knife might raise eyebrows. Though I guess a broad enough tie would cover it up, if you centered the clip rather than pushing it all the way.

I've been carrying a 940 since Oct and never had that happen. Carry it with the back of the blade resting against the seam of your pocket and you wont have problems.
