For EDC use. What do yall think?

Searched the forums but didn't find a whole lot on these two head to head. I have always wanted a 940 but continue to find other knives that I end up purchasing instead.

This time I thought I was truly set on the original 940, as I like the aluminum handles on that knife and am totally fine with S30V over cpm 20cv in an EDC. I don't have any interest in the CF version. But the mini Ritter with a nice set of Wilkins Scales is calling my name and the price difference isn't that significant.

Opinions?

I have a large Ritter and BM 943. The BM carries better but the Ritter wins for me.

I realize you said that you don't have an interest in the CF/s90v 940-1, but I just sold my 940 and got the 940-1 to take it's place. As much as I liked the 940, I absolutely love the 940-1! It's lighter, better looking (IMO) and s90v!

I love my 940, in my opinion it carries much better than a griptillian or even a mini grip. I carry a pen light and the 940 side by side in my front left pocket and I still have room to get a hand in there comfortably. I have a standard 940, 940-1, and I'm looking to get the knifeworks 940-1501, which is a blue and black g10 handle with CPM 20CV for a blade. It's hard to go wrong with either one, but in my case the standard 940 is the one usually riding in my pocket over everything else in my collection.

Well, between a 940 and a Ritter/Wilkins you're looking a $70 difference minimum but as much as a $145 difference depending on which Wilkins scales you order. That seems pretty significant to me. If you've never had a Mini Grip, I'd suggest going for the 556-1 for around $165 all in and enjoy better steel and great G10 scales (so long as you like gray and blue, lol)

I've owned a full size ritter with stock scales and currently own the 551-1.

940 - $182

Ritter Mini - $130 + ~$100 for scales but I don't know about shipping for the scales. That could easily be another 20 bucks. Either way, not really a concern of mind just wanted some opinions.

Appreciate the input!

Get the 940-1501 knifeworks exclusive. The g10 feels way better than the aluminum in my opinion plus you get 20cv for only 20 bucks more. I'll never go back to the aluminum handles again after getting my -1501. You wont be sorry. And the knife carries like a dream. I find myself thinking "Oh crap I forgot my knife" just to reach and find it there. Its so light and slim I literally can't even tell its there most of the time. The -1501 comes in at 2.6 according to my scales so that saves you a couple tenths of an ounce compared to the aluminum as well. I've handled a 940-1 and much prefer the -1501. The g10 is very smooth but not quite as smooth and the carbon fiber. Perfect knife for edc. Bet it kicks a lot if not all out of your pocket for a daily carry.
