Review BM Bailout design critique (pre-release)

4v, M4, cruewear etc would have been more idea than 3v. But keep trying.

Just cause they can do it and it's rare to see on a folder, are the reasons why they choose 3v. More sales. prove me wrong. It's all marketing here. Not knife maker knowledge in choosing the right materials and design for the knifes function.

If you guys just said I'm buying it cause it's different, or cause 3v is rare in folders etc and Benchmade didn't make up the stupid video of operators using it for scraping sidewalks I'd say there's zero issues here. But lololol it's comical. Makes so little sense.
BM Just need to say we're making this combo for sales. Nothing more. Stop pretending it's something it's not and will never be.
Cruwear is very similar to 3V, at least on a chemical level. Why would that have made for a better choice? Because it gains some carbon and tungsten?
That's just pushing it right back up along the scale towards more wear resistance and less toughness.
Judging by the way I've seen some people use their knives, that extra toughness could be useful.

So yesterday I was at the LKS, found and fooled with a 531. That is the answer - it is more (to me) aesthetically pleasing than the bug/bailout, much more! And it fits what I want it for - lightweight in my comfy shorts or sweats around the house and backyard. But that's me, everyone has a different criteria, the 531 is now on my list.

I went to get a Proper, and stuck to it, the 531 will have to wait a bit

That she is

Well, today’s the release date. Who’s already got their hands on one?

I have a $200 gift certificate to my local gun shop and they said they’ll have them at the end of the month. I’ve been on the fence with this piece for weeks and really just want a light, outdoor carry folder that I won’t feel bad beating up.

For the money I would go with the 531. Should be less costly, the build is similar and light as can be - handle both, for my money I would get the 531 and not feel like I "settled" for it. The 531 should be in the range of $135? It's on my "next to get" list.

I understand - you really gotta love a Tanto to own it - like of like an English bulldog - some folks think they are fugly, other a sexy beast! Whatever you decide, I am sure you will enjoy!
