I don't have an old Benchmade catalogue, and was trying to get the series number for BM's version of the Emerson CQC7 (no longer made). I have one of these knives in the regular (shorter) length, partially serrated, black coated blade. Is this the 970ST? If not, can anyone give me the proper designation? Thanks--Will

The smaller size CQC7, 3.375" blade has the following #'s
  • 970 Plain edge bead blasted blade
  • 970BT BT2 coated plain blade
  • 970SBT BT2 coated comboedge blade
All of the above use ATS-34 steel.

The 970ST, is the Titanium alloy blade.

Kdarmy--That's just the information I needed--much easier to ask a Q on the forums than to try and dig out the info from reference material. Appreciate your taking time to illuminate in detail. Thanks, Keith
