I am trying to gauge the thickness of the Battle Mistress's tip. It's hard to tell from photos which typically show the side view. Plus the black coating makes it difficult to see clearly. How is the tip thinned? Is it tapered only? Maybe someone could post a photo. Thanks fellas.

Here are some pics of the spine and tip of my SH2E (the tip of the SH2E should be identical to the BME):

As you can see, the taper starts about 3" from the tip. It isn't a very dramatic taper, which makes for an extremely strong point. There is no false edge (like in the Zero Tolerance series knives), just a taper. You may notice the assymetrical edge at the very tip of the blade.

Thanks for the photos. Does look like an extremely thick tip, which is in line with the hard use objective. The older clip point design must have a much thinner tip.

I think some of the straight handled BM's had a false edge. Well, I don't know if I would call it a false edge, but there was some metal removed from both sides of the tip from about three inches before it. I've got some pictures somewhere if you would like to see the "false edge".

Oh yeah, I've seen the false edge on the older models. That BM-E is calling out to me but I still haven't decided.
