BM griptilian?

I have both the regular and mini-Grip. I'm slim with small hands so I find the mini to be best for EDC pocket carry. For heavier work, the regular Grip is up to just about anything. Great knives, comfortable handles, and grippy. Get at least one.

As if the mini grip can't handle 99% of what anyone could throw at it?

Proud owner of a bright yellow 556 154cm. It's quickly becoming my favorite EDC over Spyderco Native and Kershaw Leek and 25+ year owned Buck Squire.

You could clean an elk or cut about anything with this thing and it disappears in you pocket.

I have a Mini griptilian and it is a great knife. I like it better than my Syderco Delica. The minigrip sit in the pocket well and is very smooth to open using the thumb stud. You can also flick it open for fast deployment.

I've got the full-size Grip but I think I'd prefer the Mini-Grip. I just prefer a smaller knife for EDC. With that being said, its still a great knife and considering it has a 154cm blade, its great value

Do you guys think this would be a good knife for edc or is the handle too thick for it to fit comfortably in a pocket? I like this model alot and any advise would be appreciated as well as pics of the handle thickness.
Thanks.

I carry in my rear pocket. I do not find the mini-Griptilian handle to be too thick, whether sitting or standing. I do not have a full size.
I think the mini-girp makes a good EDC.

Have the Mini, hopefully getting a full-size soon. Great knife. Not total eye candy, though I do really like the subtle details like the metal liner, smooth axis lock, perfectly placed thumb stud, and palm-proof handle. That is, good handle to blade ratio, but the blade tip is recessed pretty far into the handle.

Although, I'm going to pass along what was said to me--spring for the Ritter grip now. You won't regret it.

Or, if you decide against it, you can always get it later :D

I don't like bulky things in my pockets and the standard Griptilian is thicker than some good alternatives. I don't do a lot of heavy cutting and even if I did, the knife would still be in my pocket more than 90% of the time. For that reason, I give "comfort in the pocket" an equal importance to "comfort in the hand." I EDC a mini Grip and it is perfect for me.

I had one and sold it. The handles seemed to have the wrong heft for its size (too light) and was also somewhat bulky. Also the balance of the knife felt wrong to me. I would have liked it more if it had full liners like the Spyderco Endura, a similarly sized knife. The Mini Grip feels a lot better all around.

I have had a mini Grip. for about two years. I like it very much and gave up my Spyder Endura that I had carried daily for about 8 years...never looked back. Only drawback is the oval hole ...and they've fixed that with current models. Mine is the old 440c and it holds up just fine!

I have the fullsize in D2 steel. It has been my EDC for quite sometime. It works very well for me. It will be my EDC in the sandbox later this year as well.

I agree with all the positive thing's mentioned about the Grip. I have the Olive Drab, Black blade D2 Full size grip and it's a fantastic knife. Can't beat it for the money!!!

Can anyone compare the griptilians to the 14210 and 205 BM HK's. I have really had my eye on those two.

I have a zdp delica that is a nice knife but I cannot get it to open with a flick no matter how tight the screw or what lube. On the other hand my Kershaw whirlwind with AO is pretty nice but I would like to get a bit upscale.

I had the mini grip in D2 but gave it to my girl friend when it was upstaged by my mini Ritter grip in M2. I Love the mini & standard size Grips. The mini is very comfortable in my pockets. Buy it you'll like it.

I have a Krein Reground full size grip in M2. I think I might pick up a regular S30V Ritter version in a couple of weeks for EDC purposes. I really like the handle it is very comfortable during use and I hardly notice it in the pocket. Very good knife that has held up well.

I have both. They're great knives for anything I would want to do with a knife. They can and have stood up to EDC around the house, going to work in a warehouse and cutting all sorts of stuff, going out on Saturday night and looking good (esp the 14210) and going on hikes in the woods with my dogs. I even dropped one of my 14210s onto a concrete patio a while back... no harm done. They are open-frame construction, which I like for keeping a knife / lock area cleaner than closed-frame knives.

The 14210 is what I would be carrying if I weren't EDCing one of my Sebbies. The 14205 is more "rustic" as far as the G10 scales not being finished as smooth as the 14210, and the 14205 blade is both larger and a slightly different profile (the 14210 is a recurve, the 14205 is not). I wouldn't consider either of them a "featherweight" knife, but they aren't particularly heavy, either. Just weighty enough so that they feel solid in your hand. Both are very strong, capable knives as far as I can tell... certainly up to anything I would ever ask them to do.
