How does the axis hold up after extended periods of time? I've heard that the 710 develops horizontal play after a bit of use, and I was wondering what anyone else's experience with that lock is.ALso, the 705, same questions. I have a slew of other questions, such as:
How strong is benchmade's liner lock? will it stand the test of time?
The two-tone G10 scales on the Ares, do they sacrifice strength at all?are they actually two pieces?

Any remarks on the Stryker? How is M2 steel? does the liner lock retain its integrity? How solid is it?

How is the AFCK? Again, the locking liner? does it hold up? is it strong?

ANY INPUT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Thanks!

Side to side play develops on a lot of folders. Just take a torx kit and tighten the pivot back up when it finally loosens. Up and down play shouldn't happen, axis locks are very resistant to wear.

As for the Ares G-10 handles, they will not be weaker than the 710 handle G-10. It is still one piece per scale, just it has different colors at different depths of the G-10, and the contouring exposes different "depths".

I've cycled my 710 quite a lot and there is absolutely no play whatsoever, and I've also been fortunate to not have experienced any problems with the knife's omega springs.
And my AFCK and Stryker don't have any real problems with their liner-locks. They engage fully but are a bit tight. However, they seem as if the liners will take forever to wear over

You can't be sure you'll get lucky with a Benchmade though, so it's always a good idea to handle and inspect the knife before you buy it, or get a dealer to do it for you.
