Hey Lew, Giar is right. As much as I would love to own that collection, your better off holding on to them. It's a awesome collection and I'm sure it took you while to collect them(as well as your hard earned cash). But, if you do need some cash, why not sell some of the extra ones that you have. You do have a lot of BM239.It's all up to you.I'm sure one of these days I'll be able to build my own collection , just like yours.

Well, I don't have what I call extras. I do have doubles or dupes but the more the marrier.

It would take too long to piece it out as I have a few balis. I actually did a count yesterday and I was even surprised at how many I had. So if I do sell I will have to wait for the big bucks to come along for the whole thing. I just wouldn't have the time to do them knife for knife. Oh well... maybe I'll put them in the ground with me... naaa..

I bought my 239 for $34 a couple of years ago. I just saw one go for $125!!! That is crazy IMO. It's simply not worth that much; and having owned one, I wouldn't pay that much for it...even for a collectable.

Steve

Ya, my collection hasn't grown simply because I don't have the money to spend on it anymore.

I see all these beatiful pics, it just makes it worse... maybe I just need a break.

Just a question: what kind of steel were the old BM 45 handles made of? Also, were they cast or milled?

Now to make my original point...I think that you're better off spending your money on the new stuff that's coming out recently instead of the old stuff. For the same price(generally speaking, very generally) you can get brand new ideas and works from brand new people. Ok, that's enough.

Steve

epigram79, it's not my first hand reserch, but I heard BM stainless skeleton handles are milled out of 416 steel barstock.

Hope this helps.
