I am interrested in the Mel Pardue Benchmade 330. Does anyone have any positive or negative experiences with them? I saw a couple of them on EBay tonight. They were the ones with the (pearl?) scales. One thing that bothered me was that the two pictures I looked at were very different. If anyone gets a chance, go to EBay and type benchmade into the search area and take a look. Maybe you could explain a little to me. Thanks!

I have one of the BM330's (G-10 version) and a pearl model is in near future.

It's a great little knife if you want something inexpensive (at least for G-10), small and rugged with a lot of ATS-34 blade with very little excess handle.

The titanium liner lock is about as wide as the blade itself, and should give a pretty solid lockup.

The action on mine is a little on the tight side, but I haven't seen the need to loosen it yet.

I imagine the pearl scale versions vary somewhat from knife to knife due to the nature of the material. Don't know if that was your concern...

I think what you see on Ebay is two different models. One is a larger Pardue pearl handled knife. This one is not a 330. The other is a 330 but has pearl handles rather usual G-10. I have 330 G-10, it has a lanyard hole and I somethimes use it as a key chain knife but most people might find it rather large for a key chain knife.

Thanks guys, I'm going to get myself to a decent cutlery store and handle them a little. I could use a small upscale pocket knife.
